Burton Peace 100. Community Peace Day.

On Saturday 3rd November, All Saints Church, Branston Road are hosting a day of events to commemorate the end of the First World War and the peace that followed.

We are delighted to be able to showcase the commemorative work created by local school children, from Rykneld Primary, Holy Trinity Primary, Bladon House School, Kingfisher Academy and Scientia Academy, as well as historical research from local residents. The day also features several talks, music from Gresley Male Voice Choir, crafts, a family history workshop and the viewing of the critically acclaimed film ‘Journeys End’!

The project has been funded by the Heritage Lottery Fund and is run by Trentside churches, with the aim of bringing together people from across the diverse communities of Burton to remember the sacrifices made during the First World War and to stand together with a united vision of peace for the future.
The Community Peace Day on 3rd November is a free event, running from 10am-4pm, open for anyone and everyone. We hope you can join us!
